Ø  Strengths

o   Nestlé have a high market share. Nestlé is delivering its product to 
almost all countries in the world. Globally its share in the market is quite substantial. The first quarter sales of the year 2010 for the group were 26.3 billion with 4.8% internal growth. 


o   Nestlé has one of the most advanced research and design capabilities through which they introduce new products every year giving the brand a huge advantage over its competitors. 


o   Nestlé has not only been forming partnerships with other leading companies, but is also acquiring several others, resulting in remarkable growth. 


o   Nestlé is a reputable brand and is well known almost everywhere, as its products are used by millions of people each day. 


Ø  Weakness

o   Inability to provide consistency in the quality of their food 
products, as Nestlé often has to call in many products due to poor 
supplies or contamination, hurting the image of the company. 


o   Nestlé has faced a lot of criticism on a variety of issues, such as the horsemeat scandal and child labor, which it has not been able 
to avert. 


Ø  Opportunities

o   The increasing demand for healthy food products has opened up an 
immense market for companies. Nestlé in response to the health 
trend tries to introduce healthier food products. 


o   Nestlé is already engaged in partnerships with a number of major 
companies, such as Coca-Cola, and several others, opening doors of opportunities for the company. 


Ø  Threats

o   The brand’s irresponsibility to run thorough quality assurance on 
its products resulted in providing contaminated food and other products on the market, which can hurt the reputation of the company and lead to losses. 


o   Nestlé is the leading supplier of chocolate and cocoa products. The increasing trend towards healthy eating will result in major declines in demand. 


o   The demand for raw food is expected to increase as population and economy grows. As a result, Nestlé will have to face higher costs and tighter margins. 


SWOT Analysis of Kit Kat

Ø  Strengths


The main strengths of Kit Kat is its parent company. Because being owned by Nestlé, the world’s largest nutrition and food company that almost always success in all its products and brands. Nestlé has enough financial strength to keep up every products advertisement and promotions. Besides that, Kit Kat has another strength. Some of it are :

1.     Kit Kat has creative, simple and visible advertising where the 
slogan “Have a Break, Have a Kit Kat” created a hype among customers especially children and youngsters which creates high brand awareness.

2.  Kit Kat products are easily reachable as it can be found in small grocery until huge hypermarkets. 


3.     Price is not too expensive, compared to its competitors. 


4.     Kit Kat was the first product that comes up with a chocolate-wafer combination and until now its still more popular than Cadbury’s 
Time Out. 


Ø  Weakness

Some weakness of Kit Kat are :

o   Nowadays, people are becoming more health conscious and 
avoiding having chocolates. Moreover, Kit Kat does not have any health- conscious chocolate bars that attracts health conscious crowd. 


o   Packaging is a silent promoter for a brand and Kit Kat has not change its packaging style for some time. Possibility to attract more customers indeed is there if Kit Kat tries changing its packaging style. 


o   Kit Kat keeps experimenting with new flavors that keeps bringing out new flavors out in the market whereas the consumers just want to stick to its original flavors and most of the time these new flavors which it comes out with are flop in the market, such as Kit Kat Chunky Caramel flavor. 


o   Although has expanded a lot in some countries but in regions like Asia, Kit Kat still needs to enlarge and expand especially in small towns and villages. 


 Ø  Opportunities

o   Expanding market growth in emerging countries such as Russia, 
Brazil, India and China would be an excellent strategy to improve their revenue. Company can operating to establish a company in China And India for cheap labor. 


o   Growth of technology, helps Kit Kat continuously improve their product into a quality and environmentally friendly. 


o   Chocolate’s are also considered as substitutes of sweets. This is an opportunity for Kit Kat to bring out a chocolate packing that matches every occasion for example birthdays and religious occasions like Eid ( Idul Fitri ), Christmas, etc. 


o   Kit Kat can introduce more health based products for the health conscious society, such as low fat chocolate-bar. 


  Ø  Threats

Main Threats of Kit Kat is the increase or rising costs of raw materials, fuels, dairy cost and price of packaging and manufacturing that result in the increase of Kit Kat price. In reality, a lot of consumers want to get a product by pay with same price to get a good quality product. The other threats are :

1.     Contamination to the product that caused by the weather or 
irresponsible attitude of workers and quality check. 


2.     Huge competition with Mars, Cadbury and Twix in market where Kit Kat has to compete to remain an established brand and favorite 
chocolate-wafer. 


L.O.V.E

             Love is powerful, it can give a big impact and contribution to the receipt. But, what actually is love ? Love is an abstract thing, it can’t be touch, it must be feel by our heart. Love is variety of feeling that express affection and pleasure. A lot of people relating love with a couple relationship. Actually, love is not only about a couple love, it can be about parents love to their children or parental love, teacher and lecturers love to their student, friendship love, love among citizens or in society and the most important is love from God to His peoples. In the most used search engine, Google, there are 3.560.000.000 search results of ‘love’ , when there are only 2.050.000.000 of ‘war’ and 5.930.000.000 of ‘life’. This indirectly shows that people talk about love more than war and life. Why do people talk and search love ? Although love looks like a simple things, it can brings happiness and makes the world live in harmony. Love can change sadness into happiness , pain into joy, war into peace, and tears into smile. Love encourage people and make impossible things become possible things. Like a saying by Willa Silbert Cather, “Where there is great love, there are always miracles”. A great sincere love with believe and struggle can brings miracle. Each letter of ‘Love’ in this title stands to a word.

            L stands to Laugh. As love can change sadness into happiness and tears into smile, happiness and smile that love brings can make people laugh. As love is simple, laugh is also simple but it prove that you have a happy and blessed life. A child in a Korea Variety Show that I often watch ever said to his parents that when her father makes her laugh that is called love. Laugh is love, love makes people happy and when you happy, you’ll enjoy your life and appreciate our life and not life in vain.

            O stands to obvious. Love can’t be touch but it can be seen. A small simple sincere action that come from the deep real true heart is called love. When a little boy gives a half of his lunch to his friend that doesn’t have enough money to buy lunch , it actually part of love. But when someone just thinks to do it but in the end doesn’t want or not do it, it actually still can’t called a love. Love must be express through an action, not only just thoughts and words. Love without action is just a half of love.

            V stands to virtue. Love is virtue, it always brings joy and smile. True love never brings people to pain, sorrow and tears. When someone help other people in need in order to get benefit, it’s not a true love. Love never try to get benefit. It always do anything with a sincere heart. Just like a couple that looks like love each other, but nobody knows that the man actually just date the woman to get her money. It’s not a true love but a fake love. In other hand, when a man still date and the end married with a woman although he knows that the woman is blind, its actually a real and true love become the love come from his real heart.

            E stands to eternity. Love doesn’t have an expired date, it’ll still exist until the person died. The most obvious eternity love is love between God and his peoples. Love between a couple maybe can gone but God never stops loving his peoples. Sometimes His peoples forget Him because a lot of things, such as money, job, ambition, etc. But God never forget His people, He keep loving and blessing His people’s life. He waits patiently until His peoples realize that He is the most important in the world and turn back to Him.

            Love is relation between people and people, people with God and God with people. Love is important and gives a lot of good things to the receipt. The most everlasting love is from God. God’s love is valid and infinity. Maybe it can’t be really seen and sometimes people don’t realize it but from all good things and event that happen in our life, we know that it’s come from God’s love. Love is unlimited. It can be happen anywhere, anytime to anyone. The most important thing is love makes people enjoy the life and be grateful to the life.

Novel ke-9 dari 12 novel dari Windy Puspitadewi dan juga seri ke-2 dari novel Touché ini cukup menarik untuk dibaca. Buku yang terbit tahun 2014 ini memiliki karakteristik yang sama dengan beberapa novel karangan Windy yang lain yaitu penuh dengan unsur teka-teki. Bedanya, novel ini memnyuguhkan unsur teka-teki yang lebih baik dibanding novel bertema teka-teki lainnya seperti Touché seri pertama dan Incognito.

Kemampuan Windy untuk mengabungkan beberapa unsur dalam novelnya tidak diragukan lagi. Sama seperti novelnya yang lain, Windy dapat mengabungkan unsur romance, teka-teki, pengetahuan alam dan sosial serta menyempurnakannya dengan latar tempat yang digambarkan dengan jelas. Kemampuannya dalam meramu kata membuat pembaca tidak bosan dan dapat membuat pembaca merasa masuk ke dalam cerita dengan imajinasi mereka. Latar tempat yang tidak biasa seperti New York yang diambil sebagai latar tempat di novel ini membuat pembaca ingin untuk menjelajahi tempat tersebut. Teka-teki yang dibuat pun membuat pembaca ikut penasaran dengan hasil akhirnya. Imajinasi yang ia gunakan seperti orang yang dapat menyerap data dari sentuhan tidak dibuatnya berlebihan dan terkesan real.

Sinopsis:

Kisah ini bermula dari Karen anak seorang detektif di Kepolisian New York bernama Samuel Hudson. Orang tua Karen yang baru saja berpisah dan pekerjaan ayahnya yang super sibuk membuat Karen sulit untuk bertemu ayahnya. Suatu hari Karen membuat janji pada ayahnya untuk bertemu di sebuah cafe setelah 3,5 jam menunggu ayahnya pada akhirnya datang, tapi pekerjaannya sebagai detektif yang mendadak membuat ayahnya harus pergi walau baru bertemu sebentar. Ayahnnya yang merasa menyesal akhirnya mengajak Karen untuk ikut ayahnya ke TKP untuk meneliti pembunuhan yang baru terjadi.

Disanalah ia bertemu dengan Hiro Morrison. Hiro yang berada di sekitar TKP melihat Karen dan berjalan ke arahnya dan menarik tangannya. Detektif Hudson yang melihatnya langsung menuju ke tempat putrinya dan bertanya pada pemuda itu apa yang mau dia lakukan ke anaknya. Hiro yang berdiri di sana tiba-tiba berkata bahwa ia tau siapa pelaku pembunuhan itu. Hanya dengan memegang darah yang ia oleskan di cotton bud yang selalu ia bawa sambil mengulum lollipop dimulutnya, Hiro memulai penelitiannya. Dan tidak disangka hipotesis yang dibuat Hiro benar. Kagum dengan kemampuannya, Detektif Hudson menawari Hiro pekerjaan sebagai konsultan di kepolisian New York dengan nada sombongnya Hiro langsung menyetujui penawaran itu. 

Sejak bekerja di Kepolisian New York selama setahun sudah banyak kasus yang diselesaikan atas bantuan Hiro mulai dari penculikan ahli waris milioner sampai pembunuhan asisten pribadi CEO perusahaan. Selain bekerja sebagai konsultan, Hiro yang juga memiliki IQ 200 ini juga merupakan mahasiswa Universitas Colombia yang genius. Karena kegeniusannya Hiro ditawari oleh Professor Martin menjadi salah satu anggota tim penelitian pengembangan DNA buatan. Posisi ini sulit didapat, banyak orang mengantri untuk mendapatkannya termasuk seorang teman Hiro yang bernama Willian Streling Kent yang juga penderita Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. William terobsesi dengan biru, kesimetrisan, kerapian dan kebersihan, ia tidak pernah memegang dan mengunakan barang yang pernah dipegang orang lain dan selalu membersihkan tangannya setelah memegang sesuatu. William berambisi untuk menjadi salah satu anggota tim Professor Martin tapi Professor Martin yang lebih menyukai Hiro menawarkan kesempatan itu kepada Hiro yang akhirnya diterimanya.

Satu kasus yang membutuhkan waktu lama dan penuh dengan teka-teki adalah kasus pengeboman. Pelaku yang termasuk seseorang yang pandai membuat teka-teki itu begitu rapi dan teratur. Membutuhkan waktu lama bagi Hiro untuk menyelesaikan teka-teki tersebut. Sehabis terjadinya pemboman  yang ketiga kalinya, Hiro baru menemukan pola dan motif pelaku tersebut. Dan setelah berhasil menemukan bom yang keempat sebelum meledak dari kemasan bom tersebut, Hiro dapat mengetahui DNA si pelaku dan ternyata pelaku adalah orang yang ia kenal DNAnya.

Si pelaku yang ternyata adalah William teman Hiro sendiri merencanakan semua ini karena dendamnya pada Hiro yang ia anggap mengambil semua yang ia inginkan dan William masih memiliki satu rencana akhir untuk pembalasan dendamnya pada Hiro. Rencana terakhir itu adalah mengikat Karen dengan bom diperutnya. Hiro yang panik segera menelpon Yunus King yang pernah memberinya kartu nama dan berkata bahwa ia akan mebantunya kapan saja. Yunus KIng yang berkemampuan melacak orang hanya dengan menyentuh peta menemukan lokasi Karen. Dan untungnya Karen berhasil diselamatkan.

Yunus yang juga seorang Touché mengungkapkan pada Hiro kenapa selama ini ia mendekatinya. Ia menjelaskan pada Hiro bahwa di dunia ini terdapat banyak kaum Touché yang memiliki kemampuan yang berbeda-beda termasuk dirinya.

Ulasan singkat:

Novel ini cukup menarik dan layak dibaca terutama bagi remaja, namun bagi yang lebih suka membaca novel bertema romance novel ini tidak direkomendasikan. Bagi pembaca yang lebih suka fiksi bertemakan petualangan dan teka-teki , novel ini amat direkomendasikan. Latar tempat, karakter tokoh dan alur cerita dibuat dengan rapi dan jelas. Sudut pandang ketiga yang dipakai penulis juga membuat pembaca lebih mendalami setiap karakternya.

Keunggulan buku:

Novel yang terbilang tipis ini mampu memasukan berbagai unsur dan mengabungkannya menjadi sebuah cerita yang mampu menarik hati para pembacanya. Latar tempat yang diambil di luar negri membuat pembaca Indonesia lebih tertarik karena tempat yang tidak biasa. Cover buku yang simple cocok bagi target pembacanya yang adalah remaja sampai pada pemuda.

Kelemahan buku:

Terdapat beberapa typo pada kata-kata di novel ini. Walau bertarget remaja sampai pemuda, novel ini lebih menekankan pada temanya yang penuh teka-teki dibanding unsur romance yang banyak dicari remaja.

Penutup: 

Walau merupakan novel berseri, seri ke2 ini memiliki jalan cerita yang berbeda dengan seri pertama dan tidak terlalu memiliki keterhubungan cerita dengan seri pertama. Persamaan yang jelas hanya pada kesamaan kemampuan tokoh dengan sentuhannya. Saya pribadi lebih suka dengan seri kedua ini karena terkesan lebih rapi, teka-teki rumit yang digambarkan dengan simple dan logis serta latar tempatnya yang lebih baik dibanding seri pertama. Saya sendiri memberi rating 4.5 dari 5.
